Company: Bombas
Products: Socks
Causes: Homelessness
This is the fourth in a series of blog posts highlighting retailers that sell excellent gifts in time for Christmas gift-giving, while meaningfully supporting important causes. I previously highlighted Kiva.org, Uncommon Goods, and Alex and Ani. In this post I highlight socks retailer Bombas.
Socks are hot. They’re everywhere as gifting options this year – both for yourself and others. I see ads for socks everywhere. Some with clever designs. Some with clever sayings. You’ve seen the ads on Facebook, the ones that feature the bottom of a pair of socks that say, “If you can see this” on one on, and “bring me wine” on the other. (Note to self: tag my husband later.) All that to say, that you don’t have to feel sheepish giving socks as gifts this year. Socks are in!
With the sock trend alive and well, Bombas is capitalizing with their well made, technologically advanced creations. And what’s even better, Bombas donates
a pair of socks to organizations that help the homeless for every pair you buy. As of this writing, the company claims to have donated over 12.7 million pairs of socks. More than just donating, Bombas designed the socks they donate to specially meet the needs of the homeless. In their own words:
We engineered a sock to specifically meet the needs of people who don’t have the luxury of putting on a clean pair of socks every day. An anti-microbial treatment ensures they don’t need to be washed as often, and reinforced seams and darker colors give them greater durability with less visible wear.

Bombas sells socks for men, women, and kids; in dressy, casual, and athletic styles. And some have grippers on the bottom. They’re not cheap but they’re made of quality materials and you can save a bit by buying packs of multiple socks.
This gift pack for women is my personal favorite:
